Generally speaking, most of us grew up listening to the radio, the emphasis is “most of us” since Gen Z’s probably do not know what a radio looks like, besides the one in the car. When you think of it, radio is the primary source for reaching each and every listener in the car. In the old days, we needed a radio to listen to our favorite DJ, outside the car. Nowadays we can stream live from our smartphone or computer. South Africa, has one of the highest smartphone users in the world, enabling the radio to be accessible to all South Africans as an effective communication medium.
